Example Artwork
Once I began my new technique which was inspired by John Beckley (French artist on YouTube). He has a technique at the end of some of his artwork of mixing a little water or gloss medium into black and white acrylic paint so it flows well and squirting it using squeezy bottles... cool eh? So I gave it a go and after much experimenting was using different colours and spreading it using a silicone spreader, spraying water on it, dripping ink, blowing it, then using the black and white at the end in arcs or circles.
"That sounds a great technique Steve.... do you make many mistakes?" "Well, yeah... quite a lot!" So what do I do when I've got only one piece out of ten that I'm happy with and nine which look a mess? The rubbish ones get re-used for doodles when I've got time off. I'll take a whole load of them on holiday with me and just fill them with repetitive shapes and lines while listening to my music. It's super relaxing. "But it's not Art Steve - it's a mess!" Course it is!!
This is what I want to teach you more than anything - it's all about PLEASING YOURSELF and making YOU happy.... don't give a rats' ass what other people think! It's the 'process' which matters. If you create something good out of it, it's a bonus. 'Perfection' is the killer of creativity.
Ok, enough yapping - here's some examples... start doing the same repetitive shapes (you'll start creating your own soon - it'll just come naturally, like muscle memory that sporty people get from doing the same thing hundreds of times). I'll put a few at the bottom for you to download for adding to/colouring in etc.

Leave some areas patchy - looks better than fully filled in

Use white 'Gelly Roll' pen for dark areas to give different effects.

This was a few splodges of green and sepia ink which looked quite organic... what could they have growing on them or in them? Bright colours go well with muted dark colours. Leave plenty of areas white... don't know why, just looks better... Go crazy kids!! More uploads coming soon...
It's all just mushrooms, orbs, boulders and leaves.... have fun experimenting for your own enjoyment - pretty much every piece of artwork you do will have something in it that you're happy with. You've just gotta go with the flow and enjoy the process. The more you do the better you'll become!
